Absolutely perfect review, AGREE on every single word!!!
Juno was one of the worst movies I’ve seen, and I hate the stripper writer. Kind of expected though.
The soundtrack, I think, was the most nauseating part, just unbearable.

I’m sorry, but this movie sucked. I cannot understand why it has garnered such popularity. Juno’s character just doesn’t act like a person with feelings. She is way too flippant about the whole thing, and oh so quirky. We get it, she is suppose to be laid back, and mature for her age… I just didn’t buy it.

this is really touching… i actually feel the same way, but i have a different kind of love for him (well i’m a girl) but i was just starting to love him when all of a sudden i hear in the background on the television “breaking news–actor heath ledger…is dead.” and i was like HOLY SHIT WHAT?!!!!! i immediately burst into tears and was like freaking out. ever since then i have been more in love with him than ever, which is painful, but it’s hard not to love him.

he was an amazing, brilliant joker. AMAZING. ive seen it 5 times, and i’m not afraid to admit that.

nice story. it made me sad.

i was under the impression that Juno was directed by the same guy who directed Knocked Up because it’s about an unexpected pregnancy, plus Michael Cera stars as Juno’s boyfriend (he was one of the goofy kids from Superbad, a close relative of Knocked Up), but it turns out this is not the case

only the cutesy “yeah i totally relate and approve” guffaws of EVERY stupid person in the audience EVERY thirty seconds were worse than the film itself.

the most cringeworthy hour and a half of my life.

Actually SBTB stole that whole show from an older episode of “Squire Pegs”; who in tern got the idea from a rare Moody Blues B-side which was later covered by Huey Lewis and the News but never officially released. Anderson actually got the inspiration for the film from a bootleg of Lewis’ version first. (not surprising as he has the largest unofficial HLN collection in the western world. Shadowing the bands own and rivaled only by a deposed Saudi prince’s collection… who’s over in some bumfuck Middle Eastern country somewhere.)
Anderson then later went back and filled in the structural holes by using both the Saved by the Bell and the Squire Pegs episodes as reference. Which, all in all, was a wise choice. While the SP episode was more historically and technically accurate, the SBTB episode was far more interesting and satisfying on an emotional and character based level. Uncut actually did a whole article on this in it’s last issue.
